Coffee Chat: Volume 5

Friday, September 30, 2016
Happy Friday! I can't believe that this is volume five of my coffee chat series. I really like doing this series every Friday! I hope you guys like it too! :)

1. See the mug in the picture? I designed it! And you can actually buy it in my Etsy shop! Cool, right? A bunch of inventory for the shop came in this week, which is why I had to come home early because I had orders that I needed to get shipped. It's really awesome seeing my designs in person. It's also kind of weird, knowing that I designed this coffee mug and someone is going to be drinking coffee out of it. Now I kind of want to get a mug for myself haha!

2. I'm writing this blog post at 2am. I couldn't sleep. So, I'm working instead. Also, if this blog post seems like it's written weird, that's why.

3. I really want to go camping! I've never been camping before, and I've always wanted to go. I remember my Dad set up a tent in the backyard of my parents house when I was probably 8 or 9. I also remember begging him to go camping! But here I am at 20 and I've never been camping. Sad times y'all.

4. I found this house on Pinterest and OHMYGOSHHH I'm obsessed! It's GORGEOUS! The house, the view, ugh everything is so perfect. It's goals. And yes, I'm still loving lodges. And yes, I still love my modern farmhouse. But I never realized how cool lodges could be. I always envisioned a lodge as more of a cabin and just not that cool. But now that I've discovered that lodges are NOT how I thought they were, they're really neat!

5. Sometimes I feel like I need an assistant haha! But like, working with me would be so much fun. There would be lots of coffee and cappuccino. Dance parties whenever a good song comes on Spotify. And cat petting breaks, because Skunk needs lots of attention.

...Yeah, not sure how much work would actually get done haha!

That's it for this weeks coffee chat! I hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend! :)

Ins & Outs #7!

Thursday, September 29, 2016
Happy Thursday! I feel like it's been a long week. I've been SO busy, but it's still just been a long week. Anyways, let's just get right into my ins and outs for this week!

-Pumpkin Spice Lattes

I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season yesterday! I know they've been available at Starbucks for awhile now, but it just hasn't felt like fall...until yesterday. Yesterday REALLY felt like fall. It was such a beautiful day! Also, my pumpkin spice latte was delicious.

-Being Back Home

I've been staying with my parents for a few days, because I had to do makeup for a wedding, and some other work stuff going on. They live in the city, and it's nice but I'm just really glad to be back home. Where I live is just so...beautiful. I just love living here.

Funny story, when my Grandma and I were coming home, I got so excited once I started seeing cows. I was like freaking out haha! You know you've been in the city too long, when you start getting excited over seeing cows. Yeah.

-Pupaccinos From Starbucks

The other day when I went to Starbucks, I was sitting in the drive-through and a lady ordered a pupaccino (whipped cream) for her dog. I didn't even know this was a thing! It's literally just like a shot glass of whipped cream. Watching her dog devour the pupaccino, was literally the CUTEST THING! Naturally, my Dad and I decided that Frosty needed a pupaccino too. She loved it! I've officially gotten my dog addicted to Starbucks. It's a problem. I'm also starting to realize how addicted I am to Starbucks. That's a problem too haha!

-The Three Day Headache

Even though it's finally gone, I still had to mention it on the blog. I had a headache off and on for three days. And it sucked. It was definitely a tension headache, probably from all the stress and lack of sleep. I tried Tylenol and Ibuprofen. Didn't help. I finally ended up asking my friends on Facebook if they knew what would help. I'm not really sure what helped, as I tried many different remedies, because I was at the point where I would try almost anything to get rid of it. All I know is, I'm really happy that the headache is gone!

-Erin Condren Planners

For the longest time, I loved planning in my Erin Condren planner. I thought it was so much fun using the planner stickers to decorate my planner. But after awhile, it felt like 'work' to plan, and I stopped using the planner and just stuck with using my Sugar Paper planner and the Day Designer. I keep trying to get back into the Erin Condren planner, but I just can't. And it's so sad because I remember how excited I was that I got the planner with the rose gold coil. Maybe one day I'll use that planner again.

-B&BW Wallflower Plugin Quitting

I was so disappointed when I got home, because my favorite wallflower plugin from Bath and Body Works QUIT. :( I was thinking that it would be time to change the scent, and when I checked it, the plugin was cold. I'm so sad about it quitting because 1. the wallflower plugin I had was limited edition from two years ago and 2. I was so ready to change the scent to something fall. Sad times y'all.

That's it for my ins and outs this week! What are yours? Share in the comments!

What I've Learned From Starting My Own Business!

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

I am a business owner. My Etsy shop, YouTube channel, and blog, are all businesses. I've been blogging and making videos for a few years now. Having your own business is fun, but it can also be very stressful. I know that there are many women who aspire to have a way to work from home, but get discouraged. Today, I thought I'd share with you all what I've learned along the way.

-Follow Your Gut

If I did everything that people told me to do with my business, I wouldn't be where I am.

No matter what anyone says, always follow your gut instinct. You know your business best. You know your business goals best. Listening to your gut is a great way to know what you should do next with your business, despite what others might be saying you should do. If I did everything that people told me to do with my business, I wouldn't be where I am. And I wouldn't be happy with my brand.

-Don't Take Your Critics Too Seriously

It can be hard when you have people critiquing your work. I'll be honest and say, I've let it affect me and get me down before. But, I've learned that you don't take it too seriously. There's nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism, though. But make sure you realize that there is a big difference between constructive criticism and just plain out mean comments. There's always going to be people who want to put you down. Just ignore them and focus on you boo!

-Change Your Business As You Change

When I first started with the Chelseamakeup14 brand, I was fourteen. Yes, you read that right. I had NO clue what I was doing! Now that I'm twenty, I am a completely different person then I was back then. And it shows in my business. You as a person are going to grow and change, and that's the same for your business. I'm not going to blog about the same things I was blogging about six years ago! I'm going to blog about what I love now!

-Don't Compare Your Business To Other Businesses

Some comparison is healthy and completely normal. You should check out what the competition is doing, so you can keep up with the game. But, don't let it get you down. Try your best to be happy for others successes, even when it's tough. When you're down, you'll lose motivation to keep working towards your goals. And that's not good! Also, remember there are people who are looking at your brand and feeling the same exact way. It's all normal!

-Don't Be Afraid To Take Risks

This is probably the most overused piece of advice, but it's also the most true. As a business owner, you have to push past fear and comfort zones. I have definitely had to push myself out of some comfort zones when it comes to my business. Most of the time things work out. But even when it doesn't, there's always a lesson you can take away from it.

-Remember That Success Takes Time

To some, I might look like I'm failing, but I'm staying true to myself and my brand and that's all that matters to me.

I am probably the most impatient person. I have to remind myself of this one quite often! Sometimes I'll find myself comparing my brand to other brands out there. Someone that has been making videos for as long as I have, has waaaay more subscribers than I do. Sometimes I get caught up in these markers that I feel like I should be at. Truth is, these things take time. There have been many opportunities that have come my way, that I've passed up because I didn't feel like they were me or my brand. Just because a bunch of other people who have similar brands were doing it, didn't mean that I had to do it too. To some, I might look like I'm failing, but I'm staying true to myself and my brand and that's all that matters to me.

-Take Time For Inspiration

I've experienced feeling burnt out over my brand before, and it's scary. I actually want to do a blog post on what to do when you're feeling burnt out over your brand. But sometimes, it can be hard to find inspiration. That's why I think it's important to take time for inspiration. Take a little break from your work for a little bit. Maybe go for a walk, read a book, get coffee with a friend. All of these things help! They help me get back to feeling inspired to be creative again.

-Remember To Have Fun

There are going to be days that I'm going to feel like I'm a failure, but I just have to remind myself that I'm not perfect. I'm doing the best that I can when it comes to running my business.

I'm going to be honest and say there are days that I have no clue what I'm doing. There are days that I'd like to rip out my hair and throw my computer out the window. Hey, just being real here! I didn't start the Chelseamakeup14 brand with any business background. I started this brand because I had a dream. I took a risk. There are going to be days that I'm going to feel like I'm a failure, but I just have to remind myself that I'm not perfect. I'm doing the best that I can when it comes to running my business. I also try to make sure that I'm having fun. Because, that's the whole point of having my own business, to work at something I enjoy.

Do you have any tips that you'd like to share with Chelseamakeup14 readers? Please share in the comments!

Reading: Still reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero.

Watching: Greys Anatomy is back on and that is MY SHOW! Seriously, I love it!

Thinking About: My ebook! I can FINALLY tell y'all one of the many projects that I'm working on. I am writing an ebook! I am SO EXCITED! It will be available to purchase to read on the Kindle sometime next year. More details later!

Planning: New items for the Etsy shop!

Loving: So yesterday at Starbucks, the lady in front of me in the drive-through ordered a pupaccino (whipped cream) for her dog. I didn't even know that was a thing! Anyways, the dog devoured the pupaccino. It was LITERALLY THE CUTEST THING! Now I want to take my dog to get a pupaccino!

What are you currently up to? Let me know in the comments! :)

Have a great Tuesday!

Coffee Chat: Volume 4

Friday, September 23, 2016
Happy Friday! :)

1. I'm doing makeup for a wedding tonight, and I'm pretty nervous about it. I have no idea why I'm SO nervous! Anyways, because I'm doing makeup that means I get to go to Starbucks and get an iced caramel macchiato. That will probably help haha. So thankful that I have people who put up with me texting them when I'm nervous!

2. I need to buy a new suitcase. Why are they so expensive?! Like I want to spend money on other things not just buying a suitcase. So annoying.

3. Sometimes I forget that I'm an adult. I forget that I'm 20. It's so weird. Anyone else ever feel that way?

4. This house is house goals. I have no idea why I'm suddenly liking lodge type houses. I blame HGTV. That view though! If I ever get to buy my dream land and build my dream house, I'll probably stick with my modern farmhouse though. I mean, we all know my love for shiplap walls!

Also, yes, I did mention this house in yesterdays blog post.

5. I've been listening to Tori Kelly on repeat this week. I really want to see her in concert again! I saw her last October with my Mom.

Have a great Friday and a great weekend! :)

Ins & Outs #6!

Thursday, September 22, 2016
Happy Thursday! It's almost the weekend! Y'all today is kind of my favorite day, because it's the first day of Fall. It definitely doesn't feel like Fall outside haha! Fall is my favorite season and I'm just so excited for sweaters and boots and pumpkin spice lattes. And I can't wait to start seeing the leaves change! I could make an entire blog post dedicated to how much I love Fall haha. Anyways, let's get into my ins and outs for this week!

-Fall Decor

Incase you didn't know, I take my fall decorating very seriously. I've been looking up inspiration to decorate my front porch. I've been pinning way too many ideas! But this is seriously front porch GOALS

Last year, we (Grandma and I) went a little crazy decorating for fall and Halloween. No idea what we're gonna do this year yet!

So, remember awhile ago when I was talking about how I wanted a puppy? Well that's still not going to be a thing for awhile. Just because I'm honestly not ready for a puppy and I don't really have the time for a puppy. BUT when I am ready, I do know what kind of dog I want. I've been obsessed with Samoyeds lately. They are such BEAUTIFUL dogs! And they're hypoallergenic!

-Houses With A View

I mostly blame HGTV for this. And a picture that I shared on Facebook awhile ago. But I kind of think living here would be AWESOME! This just looks gorgeous! I could see myself drinking coffee and writing or reading on the deck. And ohmygosh just imagine living there, in the fall. And watching the leaves change! PERFECT

-My Phone Case

I'm kind of bummed because my phone case has a crack in it. And it just really bugs me. I want to get a new phone case, but it's impossible to find a case for the 5s now. I'm thinking about just designing one myself and then maybe putting it in my shop too.

-Breaking Out

My skin is kind of going through a phase right now. I think part of it is because I've been really stressed. I just have A LOT on my mind.

That's it for my ins and outs for this week! Hope you guys have a great Thursday! :)

Current Beauty Favorites!

Wednesday, September 21, 2016
Today, I thought I would share with you guys some beauty products that I have been loving! These are products that I've been reaching for, almost everyday. I don't wear makeup everyday, so that's why I say almost. Let's get right into the favorites!

-Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

I've been obsessed with this palette since I bought it! The colors are GORGEOUS! I love the eyeshadows because they are super pigmented, and blend really nicely. I actually have a tutorial up on my channel, with the look that I wear most of the time when I use this palette.

-MAC Brule Eyeshadow

This is my all time favorite brow highlight eyeshadow! A lot of eyeshadow palettes don't have highlight shades, or they're too light for my taste. This color is the perfect color for my skin tone!

-Maybelline Better Skin Powder

This powder is seriously amazing! I use it as a setting powder, to set my foundation. This powder really gives my face a flawless finish. I don't want to use any other setting powder now!

-Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

This is my all time favorite mascara! I don't want to use any other mascara haha. This mascara gives my lashes SO MUCH volume, that it makes me look like I'm wearing false eyelashes. It's kind of amazing.

-Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo

First of all, I never knew how important having my brows look good was until I got older. When I first started with makeup, I never filled in my eyebrows. Now, I hate leaving the house without them filled in haha! It's not quite that bad...but y'all know what I mean. Anyways, I love this brow product because it fills in my brows without being too much. My eyebrows don't look like I drew them on, they look natural. Like they're supposed to be full and not have gaps haha.

-Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

My newest makeup obsession is setting spray. I never used to use one, until I started going out more and deciding that I need to keep my makeup looking nice throughout the night. That's why I love this Urban Decay setting spray. I can tell that it really keeps my makeup looking nice throughout the night! I can get home at like 1am and it still looks good! It just adds the perfect finishing touch to any makeup look.

-Smashbox Primer Water

I've been hearing good and bad things about this foundation primer, ever since it was released. I decided to pick up a travel size, and give it a try. I personally LOVE this foundation primer! I think it really helps keep my makeup on, and just gives my face a refreshed feel and look.

-Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

This is my all time favorite concealer! I love that it's a full coverage concealer. It feels really lightweight and really covers up my dark circles. I don't have any problems with it creasing, which is really nice.

-Becca Cosmetics Jaclyn Hill Face Palette

I've been loving this face palette since I got it! It's such an amazing face palette. I love all the blush colors, and the highlighters. So pigmented!

-Maybelline The Bolds Lipstick in Nude Thrill

This is my new favorite nude lipstick! It's the perfect nude. Not too light and not too dark. It's perfect for my skin tone.

Those are my current favorite beauty products! What beauty products are you loving right now? Tell me in the comments! :)

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Reading: I started reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero last night. I don't normally reach for self help books, but SO MANY people have recommended this book to me. I think I'll do a blog post on it when I finish reading it.

Watching: The HGTV addiction is still real!

Thinking About: So. Much. On. My. Mind.

Planning: New videos, new blog posts, and new items for the Etsy shop!

Loving: This is really random, but because I do a lot of journaling and planning, I've been loving the Papermate Inkjoy gel pens. They just glide across the paper! My all time favorite pens! Also, if you're into using the Erin Condren planners, these pens work really well on most glossy stickers.

What are you currently up to? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great Tuesday! :)

Inspirational Quotes For #GirlBosses #2

Monday, September 19, 2016
This morning I woke up in a very sassy mood. I woke up telling myself that I'm going to get work done this week, and be a total #girlboss. That's why I decided to post some more inspirational quotes for girl bosses. If you need even more inspiration, make sure you check out the first post that I did! Remember, being a #girlboss isn't easy, but somebody has to do it. ;)

Have a great Monday! :)

Coffee Chat: Volume 3

Friday, September 16, 2016
Happy Friday! I feel like this week went by really fast. I also feel like I say that every week haha.

1. I've been really into cappuccino again. I get the Hills Brothers cappuccino mix. It's the sugar free french vanilla one. I have to get the sugar free one. I did try the regular one, and it was just nasty. Too sweet!

2. Speaking of coffee, y'all I have been craving an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks like all week. And I finally got one! Haha! I had a makeover in town yesterday, so that gave me a chance to stop and get a coffee. I'll admit....I'm addicted. But I mean, I don't go to Starbucks that much when I'm at home. Now, when I'm at my parents house in the city....that's a different story. Haha.

3. I'm still not sleeping very well. Instead of getting on my laptop and trying to write like I have been, I decided that I would try to lay down. I guess I fell asleep for a little bit, because I had FOUR nightmares last night. I literally woke up in tears because it was just too much and too real.

4. I've been very sassy this week haha! Sorry to anyone who has been around me and had to deal with the sass. I don't know why I've been so sassy though! I guess I've just been feeling really good this week, well minus the lack of sleep thing. Of course, I've been sassy my entire life so it's not like it's a new thing haha.

5. My internet has been a pain in the booty this week! :( I guess it quit working Wednesday night, and then Thursday morning it would load some websites but not all of them. I couldn't get to my blog and I couldn't upload the video that I planned to upload yesterday. Which really sucked, because I've been doing so good at staying on a schedule lately! It also sucks when most of your job is on the internet. When you can't get on the internet, you can't work!

Have a great Friday and a great weekend! :)

How To Get Work Done When You're Feeling Lazy

Wednesday, September 14, 2016
To most people, being your own boss sounds like the best thing ever. And while it's great that you get to work whenever you want to and make your own schedule, it also takes A LOT of discipline. For example, yesterday it rained all day. Did I want to work? Nope! Did I? Yes! I actually had a really productive day for a rainy day. And I was really proud of myself. That's why today, I wanted to share with you guys my tips on getting work done, even when you're feeling lazy.

1. Have A Decent Workspace

Do you like your current workspace? If you answered no, it's time to fix that! When you like the space that you work in, you'll be more motivated to be in there, because you'll enjoy it more. Find some cute decor to make the space yours! TJ MAXX and Home Goods are two great places to check out. They have super cute stuff, plus it's super affordable!

2. Have A Work System

I'm a planner. I use two of them, which to most people is kind of insane. But hey, it's what works for me! It's important to find a way that you can keep track of your work. Because I'm working on so many different projects, I find it easier to plan out my week. That way one day, I might film a video, and the next day might be a design day for Etsy. This really keeps me from getting overwhelmed!

3. Have An Awesome Playlist

Does anyone really feel motivated if they're sitting in a quiet room? Um I know I don't! I have to have music going. When you have an awesome playlist to listen to, it just gets you happy and energized, which makes you get into #girlboss mode. Everyone listens to different music. Like right now as I'm typing this blog post, I'm listening to Kelsea Ballerini. Oh, and make sure you take a few dance breaks. Just because. :)

4. Dress For Success

Yes, I know if you're working from home it's hard to put on real clothes. I would much rather spend my time in yoga pants. BUT when you feel good, you're going to feel more productive. Take some time to get ready for work, even if you are just going into your home office. I definitely don't feel as lazy when I'm in real clothes, as I do in yoga pants!

5. Drink All The Coffee

Ok, this one might just be me. But I do feel a lot more productive when I have coffee. Especially an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks. ;)

How do you get motivated to work when you're feeling lazy? Let me know in the comments!

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Trying to take a picture of Leo being cute and then Whiskers got jealous.

Reading: I seriously have no time for reading right now. And I really miss it. I used to be one of those people that read more than one book a week, but now I barely get one book read a month. I need to try to make more time for reading!

Watching: The HGTV addiction is real! Seriously though. I kind of love HGTV. It's on all the time!

Thinking About: So. Much. On. My. Mind.

Planning: So. Many. Things. Blog posts, videos, and designs for my Etsy shop. A lot going on!

Loving: Coffee. All the coffee. I need all the coffee to function haha!

What are you currently up to? Let me know in the comments! :)

Ins & Outs #5!

Monday, September 12, 2016
It's Monday, and I never really know what to post on Monday's. I don't feel like it's a good day for a too heavy of post, just because it's Monday and everyone is kind of like zombies getting back into the work week. That's why I felt like today would be the perfect day for an ins and outs post!

Yes, you read that right, I said football. People don't ever expect a beauty blogger to be a sports fan, but this girl loves watching football! I also love baseball, but I'm more of a football fan. Yesterday I spent the afternoon watching the KC Chiefs game and designing new things for the Etsy shop. Which the things that I designed for my Etsy shop, ended up being football inspired. Yepp. I also unintentionally wore a red dress to church, not even thinking that it was the Chiefs first game of the season haha. Cheering on my team and not even realizing it! Also, they won so that was really awesome! :)

-Plaid Shirts

Y'all I am all about plaid right now! I wore plaid the other day, and it's kind of my favorite thing. I think it's gonna be really big for fall. Also, I kind of love the brown smokey eye that I'm wearing in this picture. And because I know I'll be asked, my necklace is from Charlotte Russe.

I seriously can't wait until I get to go someplace to go dancing again! I really like it! This city girl never imagined that she'd learn to dance. I'd always wanted to learn, but just never thought I'd get the chance to. My Grandparents are actually getting interested in dancing, so I'm hoping they'll dance the next time they go somewhere. They're kind of adorable.

I'm back to painting again! I got some new watercolor paper, and I'm really loving it. I don't remember what brand it is...But it's 140 pound paper instead of the 100 pound paper that I used to use. The 140 pound is MUCH better quality paper!

-Not Sleeping

Yeah, so I'm not sleeping again. Which is just so much fun. NOT. I just can't get my mind to shut up before going to bed. There is so much on my mind right now. I've also found myself designing while I'm laying in bed. Last night I actually had an idea for coffee mugs, so expect some new coffee mugs in the Etsy shop soon! Also, I'm really thankful for coffee.

-Weird Halloween Decor

Not last weekend, but the weekend before, when I went to KC, my parents and I stopped at World Market. My Dad and I love looking at all the Halloween stuff, even though we never buy any of it haha. Honestly, this Halloween decor was kind of...disturbing.

Hope you guys have a great Monday! :)

Coffee Chat: Volume 2

Friday, September 09, 2016
I can't believe that it's Friday already! I feel like this week has went really fast. I've also been slightly confused all week because of Monday being a holiday. This week has seriously been such a fun week, which you guys will hear (or read) about in this post! Also, because I know I'll be asked, the coffee mug in the picture is from Target! I got it a couple of years ago, so unfortunately it's not available anymore.

1. I've been loving the Joe's brand coffee again! I've only been able to find it at TJ MAXX, and actually had to stop drinking it for awhile because my store didn't have it. Last time I went, they finally had it back in stock, so I stocked up on the k-cups! I get the medium roast coffee. And of course, drink it plain.

2. I felt super trendy the other day, because I came across the boxed water at World Market. I didn't buy any, so I can't tell you if it tastes any different than other bottled waters. I do have to say though, the packaging is really cool!

3. Wednesday night was a really fun night! I went with some friends to a music show thing, and that was really fun, meeting people and dancing, and listening to the good music. Then we went out to eat, which I literally have the weirdest eating habits haha. Then on the way home, it poured rain, which was kind of crazy! I'm pretty sure there was hail at some point. Anyways, it was just such a fun night! :)

4. I'm really wanting to buy some fall candles. I've been checking out the Bath & Body Works website and just (not so) patiently waiting for the candles to go on sale. I just LOVE fall. When they do go on sale, you can expect a HUGE candle haul!

5. Last Saturday I went to Zona Rosa with my parents. We were mostly just going to the city because I've been wanting to go to Home Goods and look for some fall decor. I don't know why I keep going to Home Goods, because every time I go, I'm always disappointed. It happened again this time when I went! I also went to World Market, and I was kind of disappointed in World Market too. Anyways, I wanted to take an outfit of the day picture somewhere, and my Dad had this idea to take it on the top level of the parking garage. The picture turned out kind of cool!

Cappuccino Design Co!

Thursday, September 08, 2016
When I first opened Cappuccino Design Co in early 2015, my shop focused on web design only. Designing logos and different elements for blogs. Then in August of 2015, I discovered my love for planning, and began to sell planner stickers. I liked selling planner stickers, but my heart just wasn't into it as much as I wanted it to be. I've always had a passion for design, and wanted to find someway that I could design and still keep my Etsy shop open.

That's why I'm saying 'yes' to a new adventure! Cappuccino Design Co just got a major makeover!

I am so excited to announce that Cappuccino Design Co is now going to be selling pillows, tote bags, clothing, and more! I wanted a way to incorporate my love for design, with something that I love. I've always dreamed of having my own clothing line or home decor line, and that inspired me to work on t-shirt designs and pillow designs. I am so excited for this new adventure!

You guys can check out my Etsy shop here. I am always working on new designs, so make sure to visit the shop again soon! :)

Yesterday I was Chelsa.

Reading: Guess who's not reading anything again this week? This girl!

Watching: Not watching anything right now. I've been thinking about checking out Stranger Things on Netflix, but I'm kind of scared to check it out. I don't it super creepy? Let me know!

Thinking About: Once again this week, I'm thinking about a lot. There's a lot on my mind right now.

Planning: Videos and blog posts! Lots of things happening this month and later on, so get ready! :)

Loving: Iced caramel macchiatos from Starbucks. I'm convinced that's what helped me get out of the terrible writers block I was in. Probably not, but that just gives me another excuse to go get a drink from Starbucks haha! ;)

What are you currently up to? Tell me in the comments! :)

It Was Just A Bad Day

Monday, September 05, 2016
Yesterday, was not a good day. First, I've been in a really bad creative slump. Part of my job is to write and design, but I haven't had any inspiration to work. Which is kind of a problem! Then on top of that, my debit card got declined at two different stores, which gave me really bad anxiety. The first time it was declined, I thought it might just be the store. The second time, my mind instantly thought "ohmygosh my account has been hacked and drained!" I'm not really sure what caused it to be declined, because everything ended up being completely fine. By the evening, I was just really bummed because I felt like everything was going wrong. I had been running errands all day, and my feet hurt like hell. My new fringe boots are cute, but they really make my feet hurt!

I went to Starbucks and got an iced caramel macchiato, because coffee cures everything from hangovers to bad days. I came home and posted a dramatic post on Facebook, calling yesterday the "worst day ever" and then moped because nobody commented on it.

Yepp. Bad day. And I was being a total drama queen. Over nothing.

I sat down with my journal, coffee, and turned on my country oldies playlist. I thought about my day. I quickly realized how dumb my Facebook post was, and went to delete it. I was actually embarrassed for myself! I also realized how dumb I was acting. My day definitely could've been worse than it was. It really wasn't THAT bad!

It all started because I was upset that I wasn't being creative. Obviously, I knew that my creativity would come back. That I would find inspiration from something. But because of that, I just decided that it was going to be a bad day. I'd already had my mind made up that morning that it was going to suck. I was upset that my debit card wouldn't work, when I knew that I had money in my account. I shouldn't be frustrated about my card not working, I should be feeling THANKFUL that I have money in my bank account!

Not everyday is going to be rainbows and cotton candy, I think we all understand that. There are going to be hard days. But sometimes, we cause our hard days. Sometimes we cause things to be harder than they really are. Whoa. Just think about that for a second. You are in charge of how you feel. You are in charge of you. And yesterday, I let myself get in a bad mood and just decided that it was going to be a bad day. I didn't even try to turn it around, I was just stuck in that mindset. One thing went wrong, so the whole day was going to go wrong.

My point is (yes, I do have one!), don't let the little things cause you to have a bad day. Don't pull a Chelsea and get all dramatic because your debit card gets declined and your feet hurt. Because there's no point in acting or feeling that way. There's really not. So this morning, I put on my positive pants (aka vs pink yoga pants), made some coffee, and wrote this blog post. Because guess who's creativity came back? And guess who's not going to let the little things bother her today?

Coffee Chat: Volume 1

Friday, September 02, 2016
If you know anything about me, you'd know that I'm addicted to coffee. I literally can't function without it. So, it would only seem fitting that the new series I'm bringing to my blog is called Coffee Chat. Basically, this is going to just be random nuggets from the week. Like a weekly catchup, if you will. So grab a cup of coffee and let's get into it!

1. I love this coffee mug! It's from TJ MAXX. I'm not really one to use many cuss words, but damn is kind of my word. Whether I'm saying "oh damn" about something or using it in a sentence "I couldn't get the damn thing to work," it's my thing. I guess when I think about it, there are some worse words that I could be using, so damn is actually pretty mild.

2. I had a makeover client on Tuesday. It was for a bridal trial run, which always makes me nervous. Bridal makeup has to be perfect. I literally texted my friend on Tuesday morning to tell him how nervous I was. Thankfully he answered my text and reassured me that I would do just fine. And I did, because I'll be doing the makeup for the wedding day! And yes, I did text a guy about being nervous for a makeover client. That's just part of being friends with me!

3. I'm spending a few days at my parents house this week. It's been really nice so far! I got to see how their kitchen remodel is going. The kitchen looks really good! My Dad has been working his butt off to get the kitchen done. Last night he actually finished putting up the backsplash tiles.

4. My legs are so sore! I've been going to the gym this week, which I typically just workout at home. But since my parents have a gym membership, I've decided to use it. I've been enjoying the elliptical machine the most. I thought about trying out some of the weight machines, but so far I haven't.

5. I can't believe that it's already September! But I'm really happy that it is. Fall is just around the corner, and that's my favorite season. I'm so ready to be wearing sweaters and drinking pumpkin spice lattes.

I hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend! :)
