Coffee Chat: Volume 9

Friday, October 28, 2016

1. I got a new phone this week, even though I definitely didn't plan on getting one anytime soon! My old iPhone completely died. It would turn on but not all the way, if that makes sense. I really hated to spend the money on a phone but, I can't really be phone-less, so I had to splurge. I ended up getting a rose gold iPhone 6s. I really like it!

2. I still don't know what I'm going to be for Halloween, which is Monday. I better think of something and fast!

3. I think I'm going to binge watch Halloween movies all weekend. Sounds like a good plan, right? I think so anyway! I love Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown. I don't really do super scary Halloween movies haha. OH and I have to watch The Great Pumpkin because I've watched that every year since I was a child. It's kind of a Halloween tradition.

4. I'm feeling kind of lost with my YouTube channel. I love filming makeup tutorials, makeup will always be my number one thing. But I'm thinking it's time to add some other content to the channel, I'm just not sure what I want to do yet. If there are any videos you guys would like to see, let me know!

5. I have my Leaves candle burning from Bath and Body Works. It smells AMAZING!

I hope you guys have a great Friday!

How I Stay Organized & Reach My Goals!

Thursday, October 27, 2016

Today on the blog, I wanted to share with you guys my tips and tricks for staying organized and reaching your goals and dreams!

-Plan Weekly And Daily

It's no secret that I'm a planner and that I love using my planner. I think it's not only important to plan out your week but, to also plan out your day. I usually take time on Sunday to sit down and figure out what I want to accomplish for the week, decide what days I'm working, and decide what posts and videos I want to do that week. And then every morning, I sit down with my coffee and write down my specific goals and tasks for that day. I love using my Sugar Paper planner for my main planning. It has a weekly section where you can put your daily tasks and also put your things to do for the week. It has things broken down into sections like, to email, to buy, and to call. Then when it comes to scheduling for work and keeping track of appointments, I use my Day Designer. It has an hourly section for each day, which helps keep me on schedule!

-Prepare For The Next Day

Prepare for the next day by cleaning your space the night before. Even though I have one designated deep clean day a week, things usually need to be cleaned before then. I like to have the dishes put in the dishwasher, laundry folded, and things picked up before I go to bed at night. It's really relaxing knowing that you can go to bed and not have to worry about cleaning up a mess the next day. It's also really nice waking up to a clean space!

-Have A Morning Routine

I think it is so important to have a routine when you wake up. It's something that you can look forward to every morning. I'm not going to share too much of my morning routine, only because I want to film a video on it haha. But what I will say, is that in your morning routine use this time for you. Wake up, drink coffee, maybe go for a run/walk, fix breakfast, take time to do your hair and makeup. Your morning routine is all about you! And when you feel good in the morning, you'll be ready to work on your goals.

-Start Each Day With A Fresh Start

This kind of goes along with having a morning routine. It's so good to just start each day with a new mindset. Wake up and make yourself coffee the way you like it. Make a healthy breakfast. I also like to take my vitamins in the morning and drink a lot of water. This just gets me feeling good and happy, which makes me ready to sit down and focus on my goals that I need to accomplish that day. It's all about being positive!

-Take Notes Throughout The Day

I'm constantly thinking. Whether I'm brainstorming ideas for the blog or YouTube channel, or if I'm making appointments, there's always something going on in my brain. And that can be overwhelming! I try to write things down throughout the day. I usually keep a notepad in my purse or sometimes I'll just use the notes section on my phone. This helps me clear my mind so it's not overwhelmed with thoughts, which makes it easier to focus on work.

Those are my tips for staying organized and reaching my goals! Do you have any of your own tips you'd like to share? I'd love to read them in the comments!

Have a great Thursday!

Fall Tag!

Wednesday, October 26, 2016

I love tag videos and I love Fall so today, I thought I'd bring both to the blog! I'm going to be doing the Fall Tag.

1. Fave Thing About Fall?

The leaves changing colors! Although, I feel like this year it's taking the leaves a lot longer to change colors.

2. Fave Fall/Halloween Movies

Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus. Those are like the two movies I watch every Halloween haha. Also, I was literally just having a conversation about both of these movies haha!

3. Fashion Trend You're Loving For Fall

Oversized sweaters!

4. Fave Fall Drink

I like the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte but I also love cappuccino so yeah.

5. What is fall weather like where you live?

Usually it's cold. Well, cold to me anyway haha.

6. Apple picking or hayride?

I really like both! But picking.

7. Rain or fog?

8. Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown?

Although I love both...Hocus Pocus is my favorite.

9. Corn Maze or Haunted House?

I like both but probably corn maze. I don't exactly have the best memory in a haunted house haha. I'll just leave it at that!

10. Halloween or Thanksgiving?

11. Coats or Oversized Sweaters

Oversized sweaters.

12. Apple Pie or Pumpkin Pie?

Pumpkin pie! So yummy!

13. Cool Crisp Mornings or Cozy Evenings

Cozy evenings, with cappuccino and a movie. That's like my perfect evening.

14. Fave Fall Candle?

Caramel Pumpkin Swirl from Bath & Body Works. I have it lit right now and it smells ahhhmazing!

15. Favorite Thing To Do in The Fall?

Ohmygosh there are so many things that I love doing in the fall! I love going to the pasture and taking pictures of the trees. I love baking yummy fall treats. Drinking cappuccino and reading a good book. Decorating with fall decor. I could just keep going on and on!

Reading: Still reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero. Well actually, I'm not reading it because I haven't had time to read.

Watching: I started re-watching Young and Hungry over the weekend. It's one of my all time favorite shows! Also in the process re-watching Gossip Girl.

Thinking About: A LOT.

Planning: Not planning anything right now.

Loving: Not really sure what I'm loving this week.

What are you currently up to? Let me know in the comments! :)

Ins & Outs #9!

-Pumpkin Caramel Swirl Candle

Ohmygoodness y'all, I LOVE this candle! It smells amazing! I have this candle lit and it makes the entire house smell good.

-Iced Coffee

I've been spending so much time focusing on my writing, I've basically been living off of iced coffee lately. That's probably not healthy but, anyways haha. Iced coffee is just so good!

-Watching Netflix

Y'all, I've watched way too much Netflix in the last few days. Between watching Gossip Girl, finally finishing Jane The Virgin, and then re-watching Young and Hungry. My tv watching has been serious lately haha.

-Breaking Out

I've started drinking more water because I'm quitting diet soda, and my skin is detoxing from all the water. It's a struggle.

Hope you guys have a great Monday! :)

Coffee Chat: Volume 8

Friday, October 21, 2016

1. I attempted a Pinterest craft yesterday. It didn't work out so well. The people on Pinterest make all the crafts look SO easy, and then I try it and I fail haha.

2. This week has been a really long week. It's been nice and relaxing but, also very long.

3. Isn't this dining room so pretty? Dining room goals!

4. I made chocolate covered Oreos the other day, and they are SO yummy! I can't stop eating them. Usually when I bake, I give the treats away so I can stay out of them. Because I LOVE baking and decorating the cupcakes and Oreos, but I have a really bad sweet tooth and can't stay out of them.

5. I have the caramel pumpkin swirl candle lit right now, and it smells so good! My house just smells like fall and I kind of love it.

I hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend! :)

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

Reading: Still reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero. I haven't really felt like reading much lately.

Watching: Watching Gossip Girl still. It's my go to show when I feel stressed. And it's just nice to have on for background noise. I've watched this show like a million times, so I don't even need to watch it if that makes sense.

Thinking About: A LOT.

Planning: Some new YouTube videos and blog posts.

Loving: The leaves finally changing color!

What are you currently up to? Let me know in the comments!

Coffee Chat: Volume 7

Friday, October 14, 2016

1. I've been in kind of a rut this week. I've been really worried about literally everything. I'm not one to talk about what I'm feeling, I tend to keep it all bottled up. Yesterday, I woke up finally feeling better. I'm finally getting my sass back haha! You know I'm feeling better when I'm sassy.

2. I don't know where the coffee mug in the picture is from, but I NEED it in my life NOW!

3. I got three new eyeshadow palettes from Morphe yesterday! They're so prettyyyyy. I'll be doing tutorials with them soon!

4. This quote really speaks to me.

5. I've been planning so many videos, and I'm so excited to be able to start filming them! I'm so excited to get back to YouTube. I took a little break from filming, just because I was starting to not feel as creative when it came to filming. But I'm back!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Reading: Still reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero. Haven't had much time to read lately!

Watching: I had a Netflix marathon Friday night, and so I started re-watching Gossip Girl. This is like my 7th time watching it, but you know. It never gets old!

Thinking About: A LOT.

Planning: So many things that I'm not supposed to talk about yet, so stay tuned!

Loving: Candles. All the candles!

Ins & Outs #8!

Monday, October 10, 2016
Happy Monday! I wanted to start off the week with something simple, so I thought it would be good to start with an ins and outs post. It's raining this morning, and I'm just feeling kind of lazy to be honest. But, I've got my coffee so I'll be feeling better soon! Anyways, let's get into this blog post!

-Fall Candles

Y'all are going to be hearing a lot about fall candles on my blog for awhile. Well, at least until Bath & Body Work's winter candles come out haha! But like, this morning is perfect because it's raining, I'm drinking coffee, my Grandpa is making waffles, and I have a fall candle lit. It's fall af in my house right now and I kind of love it!

-Mint Oreos

I got some mint flavored Oreos and they're so good! They remind me of thin mint Girl Scout cookies. The only problem I have with them, is that I can't put the Oreos in the freezer like I do the Girl Scout cookies. Anyone else put their thin mints in the freezer? Makes them SO GOOD

I've been really into listening to podcasts lately. I love listening to Coffee With Chrachel. I think eventually I do a blog post sharing my favorite podcasts. If y'all have any that you think I should check out, let me know in the comments!

-Building A Website

It's hard y'all. A lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I'm merging from Etsy to Shopify, and I just want everything to look PERFECT. But it's just taking a lot longer to get everything to look exactly how I want it.

Yay! It always makes me really happy when I have more ins than outs!

Have a great Monday!

Coffee Chat: Volume 6

Friday, October 07, 2016
Happy Friday! I can't believe it's Friday! This week, literally flew by. I know, I know, I say that every week. But this week really did fly by! Sorry for no blog post yesterday. Yesterday was one of those days where, no matter what I wrote it just didn't work. If that makes sense. But I'm back to blogging today! I'm also writing this blog post at 1 in the morning, so if it gets weird and nothing makes sense, that's why haha!

1. This picture is actually from last year haha! Last year I went through a phase where I was making my own cappuccinos at home. I used a milk frother to get the foam, and then a dark roast coffee as my espresso, because I didn't have any espresso. I was pretty proud of my cappuccino making skills. I mean, it's not as good as Starbucks, but it worked haha.

2. Guess who stocked up on her favorite fall candles? This girl! My house is going to smell AMAZING!

3. Tuesday was such a fun day/night! I went on a road trip with a couple of friends. It was seriously such a fun time! I don't want to share too much of my non internet life on my blog, but just wanted to share that I had a really fun day! :)

4. The girl boss tote bags finally came in! I am in LOVE with these tote bags! They are super amazing quality and just super cute. I feel like this is a must have for every #girlboss out there!

5. I'm stuck on chapter 5 of my book that I'm writing. Please send inspiration and coffee. Thanks in advance!

Hope you have a great Friday and weekend! :)

How To Avoid Feeling Burnout

Wednesday, October 05, 2016
Do you ever feel like you're drained? Do you ever feel like just giving up on your brand? You my friend, are feeling burnout. Don't worry, it's completely normal, and something we all struggle with as #girlbosses. Mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion is usually caused by excessive stress. What are you stressed about? Maybe you feel like you're not putting enough time or effort into your brand? Or maybe you're in a creative slump? Well, today I'm going to give you tips on how to stop feeling burnout and lower stress levels too!

-Take A Step Back

One of the most common reasons of feeling burnout is caused by overworking. I know, it can be hard as a creative entrepreneur to stop working, because if you're not working you don't get paid. But sometimes, all you need is a break. Leave your work at home, turn off your cellphone, and go on a mini road trip with friends. Or check out a local coffee shop. Or maybe go on a vacation. Do something that will get your mind off of work for a day, or a few days, or maybe even a week. And when you return, you'll be feeling refreshed, creative, and ready to work again.

-Get Organized

If you're feeling burnout because of all the work you have to do, it might be a good time to organize how you work. Schedule some time to organize your work life and get a system going. And if this is something that you feel like you can't do on your own (which is totally ok!), maybe look into hiring an assistant to help you throughout the day. This is something that will not only help you save time, but also your sanity!

-Take Care Of Yourself

Another reason that you could be feeling burnout, is because you're not taking care of yourself. Make sure you're getting plenty of sleep, drinking plenty of water, eating healthy foods, and working out. Pamper yourself! Get a mani/pedi, facial, or massage. Or maybe just make it a spa day and get all three done! You'll be feeling de-stressed and ready to focus on work again.

-Don't Be Afraid To Say No

This kind of goes back to overworking yourself. As #girlbosses and creative entrepreneurs, you are going to receive some amazing opportunities. Whether it's an awesome project such as, writing an article/book, designing a company logo, etc. You don't have to accept every project handed to you. It's ok to say 'no.' It's ok to skip going to that event. For the longest time, I would accept every project that was handed my way, and while it was fun, I really felt stressed out. I had so many deadlines that I had to meet. Now, I'm not afraid to turn down a project. I know how much work I can handle, and I know what content I want my name on. Decide what's most important to you, and make that your number one priority.

What do you do to stop feeling burnout? Share in the comments!

My Month In Photos | September

Monday, October 03, 2016
I've mentioned on my blog before, that I love to take pictures. But because I don't always like bringing my Canon T3i with me, I mostly use my phone and upload the pictures to Instagram.
