Coffee Chat: Volume 34

1. Y'all things have been crazy around here lately! I'm not complaining though. I kinda love the craziness. I just don't know where to start this blog post. I guess I'll start this blog post off with that my grandparents got puppies! Yes, puppies! Their names are Ginger and Gizmo and they are adorable! My grandparents adopted them from a local shelter. They were actually brought to the shelter, because their previous owners had to go to a nursing home. Gizmo has pretty serious separation anxiety from Ginger, so it just made sense that he went with her. Right now we're working on potty training, which definitely hasn't been easy. But they're doing better on going outside to potty. Ginger and Gizmo are both around a year old.

2. J and I have been re-doing our pop-up camper. It was in major need of a makeover, the camper is literally as old as I am! So you guys can imagine, the style was just a little outdated since it's twenty-one years old. I don't want to spoil too much, because I would like to do a blog series on the remodeling process, but let me tell you the struggles we had with Rit fabric dye. For our curtains, we were really hoping for green. So we literally took their green dye, which was a nice evergreen color. Guess what color the curtains turned out? GRAY!?!? HOW??? 😐

I really have no idea how it happened. πŸ˜‚

3. Halloween was this week! What did you guys dress up as? I ended up not dressing up for Halloween this year. Not really sure why haha. Also, we only had one trick or treater! Small town probs. 😒

4. I feel like I've been neglecting my blog, and I know that I've been neglecting my YouTube channel. I have a few videos to edit that I'll be uploading soon. Really going to try to get back into the YouTube routine. I feel like it's going to be harder to film and upload, with us traveling so much, but really going to try. I can't wait to share with you guys our travels here on the blog!

5. I feel like there was a lot more that I was going to mention in this blog post, but my brain is just not working right now haha! πŸ˜‚ If I remember, I'll do another blog post with updates and such.

Hope y'all are having a great Thursday!

My Favorite iPhone Apps // Lifestyle, Games & More! (Part 2!)

Monday, October 23, 2017

Around this time last year, I did a blog post discussing my favorite iPhone apps. I'm back today, sharing even more of my favorite iPhone apps. I feel like I'm always on my phone. It's my way of keeping organized and doing work from my phone on the road. These are my current top five favorites!

1. Poshmark

I'm sure you guys are pretty familiar with Poshmark, as it's a pretty popular app. I'm fairly new to the app, but so far I am loving it! It's a great way to sell name brand items that you have in your closet or makeup collection, that you're not using anymore. I currently have some makeup products and clothes for sale on there. My shop is @chelseamakeup14 if you'd like to check out the items! I also have a referral code to get $5 off! Use the code CHELSEAMAKEUP14

2. Mint

I really like Mint because it's great for keeping track of your finances. It's great for keeping track of what money you have going in and going out. I really like that I can also keep track of my bills on there too. You can also set budgets. So for example, I'm a huge Starbucks lover so I have a budget set up for what I can spend on coffee each month. Because let's be real, coffee can get expensive!

3. IBotta

I'm fairly new to using IBotta but I wish that I would've found it sooner! I've been trying to save money when it comes to groceries, so using IBotta you get cash back on select items from different stores. Stores include Target, Walmart, Walgreens and more. All you have to do is take a picture of your receipts and IBotta will match your receipts to the items you selected. I do have a referral code for you guys, you can get a $10 bonus! Just use the code mdoyryf

4. Etsy

Not only do I sell items on Etsy, I also do quite a bit of shopping on there! I love buying things from small business and just supporting small businesses. I really love using the Etsy app. I can keep track of my favorites and keep track of what items I have in my cart. It's super easy to use!

5. Design Home

I've been obsessed with this app lately! I love it because you can design rooms. And they have different challenges, like design a modern room or tropical patio. It's quite a lot of fun!

Those are five more of my favorite apps! Let me know in the comments what your favorite apps are!

Have a great Monday!

Take A Look At My Vanity! (Sort Of)

Thursday, September 14, 2017

If you've been keeping up with my latest blog posts, you'd know that I've been traveling in Minnesota for the past month and a half or so. Doesn't seem possible that I've been up here that long! Seems like just yesterday J and I made that 8 hour trip up here...Anyway, we've been staying at his mom's house, which has been really nice. I like the whole idea of staying at a house with people I know, verses staying at a hotel. Plus, that gives me a chance to unpack and just make myself at home. 😊

When packing for this trip, I really wanted to keep it simple and just pack the basics. For me, basics include everything but the kitchen sink! I just can't help it! I try to pack for every possible situation. Which meant packing two different types of deodorant. I've been loving my Degree Dry Protection deodorant. This keeps my armpits smelling nice and keeps them dry! I then like to finish up my deodorant with the Secret Rose Body Spray. Just spray a little bit of this directly on your armpits. Keeps them smelling extra fresh!

I had to bring my favorite foundation with me! I actually didn't pack a whole bunch of makeup this time, because I've been keeping my everyday makeup fairly simple. But for foundation, I've been loving the CoverGirl Healthy Elixir foundation. Full coverage and amazing quality! Also like to pair that foundation with my Urban Decay Naked Skin concealers. OH! Almost forgot to mention my foundation primer! The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. And then I also brought my beauty blender to use to blend out foundation.

Brought my current favorite makeup remover with me! I've been using the Simple brand makeup remover, and I really like it! It's not greasy, and does a great job at removing waterproof makeup.

Lastly, brought my Tresemme dry shampoo. Y'all this dry shampoo has gotten me and my hair through so much! πŸ˜‚ But, during the music festival I didn't want to wash my hair, so just spray in some dry shampoo and call it good!

That's currently whats on my vanity that isn't actually my vanity! Hope you guys liked this blog post! Hope you guys are having a great day and a great week!!

What beauty products are currently on your vanity? Tell me in the comments below!

Ins & Outs #14

Thursday, September 07, 2017
It has been literally forever since I've posted an ins and outs post. I feel like when it comes to blogging, I haven't really had much inspiration for post ideas lately. Decided to scroll through some of my older posts, and thought an ins and outs post sounded really fun!

I have been eating SO MUCH food lately! Ohhhmygosh. It's crazy! J and I got the wood fire pizza when we were in LeMars, then I got chicken strips when we went to DQ on our way home, and then ice cream from the Blue Bunny ice cream parlor in LeMars. Plus, last night we went to a bar and grill here in MN and I got a crispy chicken sandwich, and I ate the whole thing! 😳 After we stop traveling for a bit, this girl needs to go back on her diet...But for now, I'm just gonna enjoy all the foods, including the Ben and Jerry's Half Baked that someone bought for me last night. πŸ˜‰

I've been enjoying traveling this past month, so much! I'm just so thankful that God has blessed me with a job that allows me to travel, and still work. I'm getting to do what I've always dreamed of doing, and honestly, I'm the happiest that I've been in a looooong time. So thankful and so blessed!! πŸ’–

Specifically, Barefoot Pink Moscato. Super yummy! Also, can we just mention that Barefoot is $3 at home, but up it's $6?! Ruuuuude

-Leaves Changing Colors

It feels like fall in MN right now! The temps are dropping and the leaves are beginning to change color. I'm a very happy girl right meow! πŸ‚πŸ

-Lack Of Cats

This crazy cat lady is going...well...crazy. I haven't seen ANY cats since I've been in MN, and I've been in MN for almost a month and a half now! I'm having cat withdrawals right meow. 😭😹

That's it for my ins and outs! Hope you guys are having a great week! Praying for everyone in the path of Hurricane Irma. πŸ’–

Coffee Chat: Volume 33

Wednesday, September 06, 2017

1. Ohhhmygosh, it feels like it's been forever since I've written a blog post! Life has been kind of crazy lately, but I'm not complaining, as it's been so much fun. I've been traveling, meeting new friends, and spending time with other friends. Also, eating lots of food haha! God has blessed me so much this past month, and I'm just so thankful that I've been able to do what I've been doing. πŸ’–

2. J and I just got back from the Old Time National Country Music Association Festival in LeMars, IA. It was such an awesome week! J was actually performing, and eventually he got me on stage by the end of the week. πŸ˜‚ We got to meet so many talented musicians last week, and made so many forever friends. J also won Traditional Country Album Of The Year!!! It was such an amazing week! 😊

3. LeMars is the hometown of Blue Bunny ice cream, so obviously we had to go to the Blue Bunny ice cream parlor while we there! I got a scoop of cookie dough and some kind of brownie flavor. So yummy!! πŸ˜‹ We also discovered a wood cooked pizza place called Catalanos. Super yummy pizza! And I of course had to get my coffee fix while there, so I found a local coffee shop called Bellissimo. Love their coffee! If you end up going, tell them that Chelsea sent you!

4. On our way back home from LeMars, we ran into a severe thunderstorm. This was my first ever MN severe thunderstorm. It was kind of crazy! There was hail on the road, that looked like snow, which made the road super slick to drive on. It was kind of insane! But the view after the thunderstorm, was very beautiful.

5. We're back to our current home now, which means I'm back to work, designing for Etsy, blogging, and thinking about filming. Speaking of work, I just posted these Texas Strong shirts. A portion of the proceeds from the shirts, will be going to Hurricane Harvey relief. Please check them out! Along with work, I'm also catching up on sleep. After the shows, we'd go to jams, and sometimes those could last until 2 or 3 in the morning! But it was so much fun.

I had such a fun week! I hope you guys are having fun too! Hope you guys are having a great week!

Reading: Finished reading I Had A Nice Time And Other Lies by The Betches. Not sure what I'm gonna read next...Probably gonna download something on my iPad. Or place a Barnes and Noble order. Something like that haha.

Watching: Still watching The Originals. Haven't had much time to watch Netflix lately!

Planning: Fun stuff for this weekend! I'm in Minnesota right now, which is actually where I took the picture from that I posted above. Even though I've been on vacation, still planning out blog posts and designs for my Etsy shop.

Loving: Coffee. All of the coffee.

Warby Parker Concentric Collection

Sunday, August 20, 2017
One of the best things about wearing glasses, is that there are so many different styles of glasses out there. If you wanted to, you could wear a different pair each day of the week! I'm so excited to be sharing with you guys the new Concentric Collection from Warby Parker! Warby Parker is one of my all time favorite places to purchase glasses from. When I saw the Concentric Collection, I just knew that I had to post about it to show you guys!

The Concentric Collection features frames that have just an accent of color. This collection is great for those who really like the clear frames, with just a pop of color. Each ring of color around the frames, is perfect for eye colors. Brown for blue and purple for brown/green. The touch of color will really make your eyes pop! That can be a problem for glasses wearers, as they feel their eyes are hidden behind the frames. That won't be a problem with the Concentric Collection!

The Concentric Collection features the Durand, Chelsea (how awesome is it that the glasses and I have the same name?!), and the Laurel frames. Warby Parker frames are some of the most durable glasses that I've ever tried! They are amazing quality

Interested in the collection but aren't sure how they'll look on you? Warby Parker has this awesome service that allows you to choose up to five frames, to try before you buy. It's free shipping too! How awesome is that?!

Shop this collection and more here

Reading: Still reading I Had A Nice Time And Other Lies by The Betches. Really haven't had much time to read lately, but since I'm going to be in the car for like 9 hours today, gonna try to get some reading done.

Watching: Still watching The Originals. Haven't had a chance to watch it very much lately though! :(

Planning: So many things! Road trip/vacation that's happening this week, stuff for Etsy, and other fun things.

Loving: Coffee and cats. Crazy cat lady over here haha!

Reading: Started reading I Had A Nice Time and Other Lies by The Betches. I read their other book and really liked it, so I really wanted to read this book too. I just love the way they write these books, so sassy and bitchy!

Watching: Still watching The Originals, although I haven't had much time to watch it lately.

Planning: New blog posts and designs for my Etsy shop!

Thinking About: So many things. I've been so stressed out lately. Not fun!!

Loving: Coffee. And cats.

Reading: I've been re-reading #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso. Been working on my Etsy shop and other work projects, so this book has been very motivating to me lately. This book is a must have for all of the girlbosses out there!

Watching: I've started watching this show on Netflix called The Originals. It's all about vampires, witches, and werewolves. The show is set in New Orleans, which makes me love the show even more because New Orleans is known for magical stuff. I just love how everyone is portrayed in the show, and also how the vampires don't sparkle like the ones in Twilight. Not saying anything bad about Twilight, I mean I read the books and saw the movies. But I much prefer The Originals.

Planning: I'm planning so many things right now! I'm going to be traveling soon, I'm working on projects for my Etsy shop, working on other various projects. Life has been quite busy lately, but I'm loving it!

Thinking About: So many things!

Loving: Coffee and kittens. :)

Coffee Chat: Volume 32

1. I'm writing this blog post at 3:30 in the morning, so there's that.

2. I got a dog! And he's kind of super stinkin' cute! His name is Bill. As for breed, not entirely sure. But that doesn't matter to me! Now he's my dog, but he's also my Grandpa's dog. My Grandpa has had dogs for such a long time, and the last dog that we had was a little princess dog. Literally, me as a dog haha! I wasn't sure if I was ready to let another dog into my life, after losing my sweet Sadie. But Bill is such a sweet dog, and he just wags his tail all the time. He loves going for walkies and he loves the cats. The cats still aren't super sure about him, except for Kayla who loves him. Kayla actually came to my house with him, and she's officially the queen around here. Kayla is a cat by the way haha. Anyway, here's a picture of Bill!

3. I finished season 3 of Jane The Virgin tonight/this morning. I mean, it was 3am haha. This show is such a good show! It will always be one of my favorites. But ohmygosh season 3! Bawled most of the season! If you haven't watched it, you definitely need to!!

4. I think I'm going to film a video today! I haven't filmed a video in a really long time, and I miss filming. I really do. I have a list of videos that I want to film. I also have a new microphone that I really want to use haha!

5. I also think I'm going to workout today haha. It's been awhile since I've done a proper workout. I've been doing housework and I was helping friends move. Got my exercise by going up and down the stairs a million times and carrying boxes. Which was actually a really good workout! But I need to start doing more ab workouts. So yeah.

What have you guys been up to? Share in the comments! I hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend!!

Reading: Haven't done any reading for awhile. I was going to buy some books for my iPad, but I haven't done that yet. Couldn't really decide what I wanted to read.

Watching: Haven't really been watching much TV either haha.

Planning: Some new items for my Etsy shop and other some fun things that I can't really talk about on the blog just yet.

Thinking About: All of the things. Y'all, this month has been my busiest month! I've been doing so many things and working on so many different things. I'm also thinking about how tired I am because I'm typing this blog post at 6am and I haven't went to bed yet.

Loving: Coffee. All of the coffee.

1. Hey! Hi! Hello! I'm still here! I know it's been FOREVER since I've posted a "real" post here on the blog. I've just been focusing so much of my time on my Etsy shop and other projects. One thing that I really struggle with is balancing all of my projects. My blog has kind of turned into my YouTube channel, which I've been neglecting. BUT I have lots of blog posts and videos planned, and I'm excited to get back into it. 😊

2. I feel like lots of things have happened since I last posted. First of all, I turned 21 on May 27th. 🍷 I had such a great 21st birthday! I got to celebrate with my friends and family. And I pretty much celebrated all weekend, since my birthday falls on Memorial weekend.

3. Kittens have been taking over my time right now! But I'm not complaining, because they're freaking adorable!! Sassy, who is in the picture below, is actually in a photo contest right now and it would be awesome if y'all could vote for her!

4. I've been doing a lot of writing. Not my book, which oh goodness that's a whole other struggle in my life right now πŸ˜‚ I've actually been writing songs. Well, attempting to write songs. It's not going so great haha.

5. I need more coffee. All of the coffee.

Hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend! 😊

Let's Talk Vitamins (Ft. HUM Nutrition)

Monday, May 08, 2017

Let's talk about vitamins on the blog today! I kind of have a love hate relationship with vitamins. I've been through so many different brands, trying to find ones that I actually really like and find ones that I feel like really work. Then a few months ago, I discovered the brand HUM. First of all, I was really drawn to the brand by how their products looked. Packaging is a really big thing for me and I have to admit, it's the first thing that I judge a brand on.

The next thing that I really liked about this brand, is that their products contain no soy, gluten, GMO's, artificial colors, or preservatives. Many products are organic and they even have vegan options.

Now, before I get into my personal favorite vitamins, I quickly want to mention that what works for me, might not work for you. Everyone is different and everyone has different wants when it comes to vitamins. I'm simply sharing my favorites.

// Runway Ready - I'm all about full hair, glowing skin, and strong nails. That's exactly what this vitamin does! I love that it comes in a little packet, super convenient. These include sunflower oil, which is a great source of vitamin E. You get 30 packets for 30 days.

// Big Chill - I love this one because it helps reduce stress, stay calm, and focused. I love using this because I have anxiety and have found that it really helps. This helps me keep focused when I'm working, and helps me not get stressed as easily.

// Beauty Zzzz - When it comes to sleeping, I don't get enough. Let's be real here. But, after taking this vitamin I've noticed that I'm able to fall asleep easier and actually get quality sleep. It has melatonin, which is a great sleep aid. I like using this vitamin because honestly, sleeping pills scare me. I've heard waaaay too many insane stories of the things people have done while taking sleeping pills. Like even driving their cars!!! Um yeah, no thanks. I'll stick to using my Beauty Zzzz vitamin!

// Moody Bird - This is seriously a life saver!!! We all know that it's normal to get bloated and moody when it's that time of the month. This really helps with bloating and keeping you happy during that time. This is pretty much just amazing for all of the normal PMS symptoms.

I know that looking at all of these vitamins can be kind of overwhelming. I can be difficult to decide what to try! That's why HUM has this awesome survey that you can take, where you can talk about your main concerns. A HUM nutritionist will work to find the best items for you. You can also order a little trial sample box (pictured above!). That was the first thing that I ordered from HUM, and I think it was a great thing to start out with!

If you're interested in placing an order, you can get $10 off with the code 10B39E. Minimum order of $29.

Have you tried any HUM products? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

1. First of all, hi! It's been awhile since I've blogged. Honestly, just needed a little break from blogging. Even though I took a little blog break, I have been working on some behind the scenes blog stuff and YouTube stuff. Stuff that you'll be seeing in the future!

2. I've been obsessing over my nails lately. My natural nails are in awful shape right now, they keep breaking, and it's just super frustrating. So, I picked up some nails from Walmart (yes, Walmart!!) and did them myself! I love how they turned out! The nails are the brand Kiss and I put Essie Ballet Slippers on top.

3. OH so my computer pretty much died. I'm currently blogging from my iPad haha πŸ˜‚ It's been a struggle.

4. I've discovered a bunch of new beauty favorites, that I can't wait to share with you guys! I'll be doing a blog post on them soon.

5. I need more coffee...Give me all the caffeine today!

Hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend!

1. It feels like it's been the longest week EVER. I don't know why. Maybe the weather? It was really rainy and gloomy the first part of this week. I've also been feeling really bummed this week, but I can't think of a reason why I would be bummed. Do you guys ever get bummed for no reason? Cause that's how I'm feeling.

2. I really want to go on a road trip. I don't know where I want to go, but I just want to travel somewhere. If it's something I do by myself, I don't want to go too far. But if I get someone to go with me, then I'd be comfortable traveling farther. Really need to start planning something.

3. Cappuccino is super yummy. But I'm pretty sure y'all already knew that. ;)

4. I need to clean my room. When do I not need to clean my room? I promise, I'm not an unorganized/messy person, I'm just a 20 year old girl who has trouble deciding on what to wear and brings every clothing item out of her wardrobe. It's a struggle to get ready!

5. I need more coffee. This girl has not had enough caffeine yet today!

Hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend!

The Do's & Don'ts Of Your First Internship

Thursday, April 06, 2017

Growing up, I'd always dreamed of being an intern. Specifically, an intern at a fashion magazine. I know, kind of weird. But I would see people with internships in movies, and would just dream of being an intern at a fashion magazine. As I got older, I would spend hours researching how to make the most of an internship. Even though I've never gotten to live out my dream of interning at a fashion magazine, I've compiled a list of what I've learned from research. These are my do's and don'ts for your first internship.

The Do's:

DO Your Research // Doing your research means, taking your time to get to know the company that you'll be interning for. It would be kind of embarrassing if you didn't have any background knowledge on the company. Check out their website and social media. Knowing the company, makes your internship a lot easier!

DO Dress For Success // It's important to dress appropriately. I can't stress enough just how important it is! This means your boobs shouldn't be out in the open and your heels shouldn't be as high as a strippers. In my opinion, there's nothing better than office chic. I just love office chic! Pinterest is a great place to get inspiration on what to wear.

DO Get To Know Your Coworkers // The ones you work with are going to the be the ones you spend the most time with. Take some time to get to know them. You'll probably learn a lot from them. Ask them questions, find out what they bring to the table. Keep in mind, you probably won't be able to make friends with everyone, and that's ok. Just remember to remain professional.

The Don'ts:

DON'T Be Late // I can't stress enough how unprofessional being late is! Being on time goes hand in hand with first impressions, and shows what kind of employee you'll be. If you're late all the time, chances are you're someone who doesn't want to put much effort into the job. That's a major turn off for employers. If you do know that you're going to be late, make sure to notify someone to let them know when they can expect you.

DON'T Be Scared To Ask Questions // I'm sure you've heard this before, and it's oh so true, there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you have a question, don't be scared, just ask! If you don't ask your question, you risk the chance of performing a task incorrectly. Everyone there will be happy to answer your questions!

DON'T Forget To Take A Deep Breath And Smile // Girl, relaaaax! You've got this! The first day is always the most stressful. Keep your head up, take a deep breath, and put on a smile. Remember to do your best, which all anyone could ask for.

I hope these tips help you! And if you have any tips, please share them in the comments!

Have a great Thursday! :)

Lately I've been obsessed with listening to podcasts. I've found myself listening to them instead of watching TV/Netflix. I'll listen to them when I'm getting ready, in my car, and while I'm working. I don't know what it is about podcasts, but I just really prefer podcasts over TV. Ever since I've started listening to podcasts, I've been dreaming about having my own podcast. But like, I have no idea what I would even talk about! Having my own podcast, will probably never become a thing haha. That's probably a good thing!

So today, I wanted to share with you guys my current favorite podcasts. I'm always looking for new ones to listen to and I've since started listening to a few more then just the ones mentioned below! I'll have to do an updated favorites list sometime! Anyway, here are my current favorites:

Ladies Who Lunch // I love this podcast! It's by Ingrid Nilsen and Cat Valdes. I've watched both of them on YouTube for years, and when I learned that they had a podcast, obviously I had to start listening to it! They discuss many different topics from relationships to mental health. They approach each topic with compassion and a sense of humor, which is perfect.

Betch Slapped // This podcast is by the founders of Betches, who are also the authors of one of my favorite books Nice Is Just A Place In France. They discuss topics from celebrity gossip to current TV shows to giving advice on love and friendships. I like them because they're sassy and bitchy and relatable.

Girlboss Radio With Sophia Amoruso // I freaking love Sophia Amoruso, she is one of my inspirations because she is #girlboss goals! She is the founder of Nasty Gal, which is an amazing clothing store. In each episode, Sophia interviews other #girlbosses out there. It's inspirational and motivational. And there's also a little bit of humor added too.

The Bitch Bible // This podcast is created by Jackie Schimmel. It's basically all the the things everyone is thinking, but only a bitch would say out loud. She discusses everything from pop culture to millennial struggles and more. Seriously love this podcast!

Do you guys listen to podcasts? What are some of your favorites? Share in the comments!

Reading: Not reading anything right now.

Watching: I really haven't been watching any TV lately, mostly listening to podcasts. I actually want to do a blogpost talking about my favorite podcasts.

Planning: So many things! I just can't talk about any of them yet haha. Everything I'm planning right now is all work related (blog, YouTube, Etsy), so I can't share anything just yet. Soon!

Thinking About: All of the things. Seriously, so much on my mind right now.

Loving: My car. And iced coffee.

What are you currently up to? Share in the comments! Hope you guys have a great Tuesday! :)
